Below are a few select side projects I do from time to time, mainly for the fun of it!

Sound Re-design: Forspoken (Cinematic Trailer, PS5)

A fun little project I did while at work, during a day of downtime. Time spent on this was no more than 8 hours, using a mix of SFX libraries with bits and pieces of my own recorded sounds (including the musical parts). My choice of direction was highly spontaneous and not at all based on the original audio, as I actually chose not watch the real trailer (with audio) until after I finished working on this. The reason for this was that I wanted to practice linear sound design with a “clean slate” and this was simply the result of that session.

Sound Re-design: Excerpt from Pragmata trailer (PS5)

Time spent: Approx 1.5 work days in total as a fun side project outside of work hours, partially using recordings I made prior to this project (gunshots, foley, ambience) along with additional foley/recordings and synth based sounds produced as part of the recorded progress. The purpose was to make an alternative version to the original, where choices made were based on means at hand along with set time limit (post production was only possible during late evenings, working in my kitchen on a laptop using headphones as only monitoring tool). Simply put, a “quarantine edit”.

Gear used: Sound Devices MixPre 6 II, Sony PCM A10, Rode NTG3, Oktava MK012 (matched pair, modular setup), Rode Blimp (soft modded with Rycote ConnBox for stereo setups) etc.
